Prince William may soon get a taste of Bollywood family drama with Karan Johar Sometimes there is happiness and sometimes there is sorrow. Prince of Wales making it to the list of recommended movies. During a conversation in London, William praised the filmmaker as an “icon” and agreed to watch his 2001 film after a journalist suggested it to him.
The exchange took place during a discussion about KJo’s connection with the Earthshot Prize, an environmental initiative launched by Prince William in partnership with The Royal Foundation. The filmmaker is helping the initiative connect with audiences in India, a contribution Shahi acknowledged while speaking to the BBC Asian Network.
When asked if he has seen any of Karan Johar’s films, Prince William admitted that he is yet to explore the filmmaker’s work. However, he seemed happy to get a recommendation, which opened the door for him to add one of Bollywood’s most popular family dramas to his watchlist.
Speaking about Karan’s involvement with the initiative, William said, “Really cool. I mean, he’s an icon again, and he’s been very helpful in terms of being able to help the EarthShot Prize land in India. We really want to make it an Indian EarthShot Prize. It’s the biggest thing we’ve done.”
William described Karan as “humble” when discussing his contribution to the initiative.
The journalist then suggested Sometimes there is happiness and sometimes there is sorrow.Prince is known as K3G. Released in 2001, the film is one of Karan’s most popular directorial projects and stars Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor.
The reporter encouraged William to bring up the recommendation the next time he met Karan, “Yes, we all say that. K3G Nevertheless. If you meet Karan again, tell him, I’m going to watch your film. K3GHe’ll love you.'”
William accepted the idea and replied, “Okay, I’ll mention it when I see him.”
