Television actress Mahi Vij became emotional during an episode of Bigg Boss 20 Talking about her life as a single mother. The actor spoke about the challenges of raising his daughter Tara and his decision to refuse alimony from estranged husband Jai Bhanushali.

Mahi revealed that despite the judge’s appeal to him to reconsider, he refused the financial assistance. Jai later reacted to the video shared on Mahi’s social media page, assuring her that he will always be there for her and their daughter, Tara.

What happened between Mahi Vij and Arishfa Khan?

The emotional moment followed a heated argument between Mahi and fellow contestant Arishfa Khan. Disagreement started when Gullu, Kanika and Mahi compromised Arishfa’s lifeline during a task.

Arishfa retaliated by throwing water on their bed, leading to a fight. During the confrontation, Mahi questions Arishfa’s upbringing, prompting the influencer to break up while talking to Uditi Singh.

Mahi later realized that her comments about Arishfa’s upbringing were inappropriate and apologized. However, during a debate later, Arishfa brought up the incident again and called Mahi “cheap” for her comments about her mother. The exchange left Mahi in tears.

Mahi explains why she refused alimony

In a conversation with Asif Khan and Yung, Mahi said that she wants to guide Arishfa like she would her daughter, Tara, but feels that the influencer is being insulted. He also spoke about the challenges of raising Tara and said that his life revolves around his daughter.

Mahi then reveals why she refused financial help from Jai. “I did not take a penny in alimony and did not ask for alimony,” she said, adding that she wanted to secure her daughter’s future through her own efforts.

Recalling her court proceedings, Mahi said the judge asked her four times to reconsider her decision to award alimony or no alimony. She said that Jay had worked hard to earn his money and she didn’t want to ask him for it. Mahi also clarified that Jai has never refused to help her and she can contact him if needed.

“I didn’t take it because Jay earned this money after working hard. Not that he would deny me anything… His entire locker is open to me. But it’s his effort; he earned it by standing 16 hours at work,” he added.

Jay Bhanushali’s reaction to Mahi’s revelations

Jai responded to the video shared on Mahi’s page and offered words of support. “Be strong, Mahi. We both know we will always be there for each other through the tough times. Money has never and never will come between us,” he wrote.

He also reiterated his commitment to Mahi and their daughter, saying, “You and Tara will always be the responsibility of my life. Marriage status can never change the love and respect I have for both of you.”

Jai and Mahi announced their separation on January 4 after 14 years of marriage. The couple, who married in November 2011, shared a joint statement on social media confirming their decision to separate.
