Avengers: Endgame With a new title, Avengers Endgame: Encore is back in theaters for a special re-release. The re-released version includes exclusive new footage that directly sets the story Avengers: Doomsday.
“We weren’t messing around with what that step was,” explained the film’s director, Anthony Russo. marvel.com. He shared that the new additions add depth to the Avengers story while hinting at what’s next Avengers: Doomsday.
Opening up about bringing Avengers: Endgame back to theaters, Anthony shared, “Time to Avengers: Endgame Was remarkable in many ways, not the least of which was [that it was] Followed months later by covid. ”
He added, “It changed theater in such a profound way, as we all know. To be able to see the theatrical experience gain strength and vigor over the years has been really important and very inspiring for us.
“So the fact that we can go back and bring Endgame back into theaters and connect to that moment before it ruins the theatrical experience, I think, has a layer of power in it. I feel very grateful for that,” he said.
According to the report, it wasn’t until a few years after the Avengers: Endgame release that the Russo Brothers started talking about where these characters could go next, and eventually a kernel of an idea grew. Avengers: Doomsdaywhich follows lovable heroes from different universes as they find themselves set on a deadly collision course, facing an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever faced.

Anthony revealed that Robert Downey Jr. has always been his first choice to play Doom, especially since he has been a staple of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2008. iron man
“Audiences are coming to Avengers: Doomsday with a lot of emotional connections to past experiences within the MCU, and we have those same emotional connections. So, we want to honor that and figure out how we’re using that value and that emotional investment to go somewhere new,” Anthony added.
Avengers: Doomsday It is set for a global release on December 18, 2026.
