Govinda has been in the headlines for his marital controversies and rumors of an affair with co-star Komal Rani Swarankar. In a recent interview, veteran actor Anupam Kher was asked about the attention surrounding Govinda and the actor’s personal life. He said that an actor should not let his personal life matters overshadow his professional work.
talking with Faridoon Shehryar, Anupam Kher said, “I am very fond of Govinda. I think he is one of the best actors I have worked with. I have done 10-12 films with him. Improvisation, acting, dancing – no one can compete with him.”
“But you shouldn’t let your personal life or your habits overshadow your whole life,” added the actor.
Govinda was recently seen praying with his co-star and rumored girlfriend, Komal Rani Swarankar in Lalbaghcha Raja. Govinda’s appearance with Komal came amid ongoing speculation about his personal life.
In one video, Govinda is dressed in a white kurta-pyjama, while Komal Rani is seen in a red and yellow saree. Spotting the paparazzi, the actor greeted them by chanting “Ganapati Bappa Morya”. Komal waved to the photographers.
Anupam Kher said, “I am not one to pass judgment on him. He knows his life well, and he can deal with it. I called him once, and he said he would call me back. I wanted to tell him, ‘This too shall pass.’
“Everybody has tragedies in life. I don’t think the problem is that he doesn’t know how to market himself. I think he’s caught up in his surroundings, in his life, but he hasn’t given up yet, so there’s hope. I pray he comes back and does more than what he’s doing,” Anupam added.
Talking to Komal Rani about Govinda’s visions of the Raja of Lalbagh, the two met hours after Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja herself arrived at the pandal to seek blessings. He was seen praying to Lord Ganesha and interacting with people around him during the tour.
Rumors about Govinda and Komal Rani Swarankar’s relationship have been doing the rounds for quite some time, especially after their joint public appearance. Speculations were fueled earlier this year when the two were photographed together at the Mumbai airport.
