In recent times, many film artists in languages have fallen victim to the misuse of deep artificial technology and AI which poses a serious threat to their rights and identities.
In January 2024, Delhi Police arrested Emani Naveen, a 24-year-old B.Tech graduate from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, for making and uploading a viral deepfake video of actress Rashmika Mandana. After the video went viral in 2023, Rashmika strongly opposed the misuse of AI.
