Tamannaah Bhatia has recently talked about her song Chhati Maia from wawan During the film’s promotional event in Delhi. The actor opened up about the importance of Chhath Puja and how the makers approached the song with respect and attention to its cultural roots.
Talking about the song, Tamannaah said, “This is the first time Chhath Puja has been presented in Hindi cinema. Really, Deepak and Arunabh sir, they understand it so well, and they have so much respect, and they feel so strongly about it that when we were shooting, they made sure that everything was taken care of and shot beautifully.”
He went on to explain what the festival represents to him and how those feelings are portrayed in the song.
“Chhath Pooja means gratitude; it’s about being grateful for everything we have, the ups and downs in life, all of it together, and I think they encapsulated that in a song that we’ve got so much love for and feel so grateful for.”
Tamannaah also thanked the makers for including her in the song, “So, thank you for making me a part of it.”
TVF founder Arunabh Kumar, who works as both writer and producer wawansaid that the film celebrates the culture of Bihar and Purvanchal region.
“wawan Real, authentic, and honest to our culture, yet as cinematic and spectacular as it can get on the big screen. It is inspired by the roots of TVF. We want to pay tribute to our history, mythology and culture through this film,” he said.
When Tamannaah revealed why she got emotional during the shooting of the song

He said, “This film is very special for all of us. There are many folk stories in our country, and it takes a lot of courage, clarity and vision to bring them to the big screen.”
The Mumbai-born and brought-up actress said she had seen huge crowds celebrating Chhath Puja at Juhu Beach but knew little about the traditions associated with the festival.
“I grew up in Mumbai. Chhath Puja is a major festival, and I have always seen a huge crowd at Juhu Beach. I didn’t know much about the festival. But when I shot the scene, I learned that it involves a very difficult fast, where people go without water for 36 hours and pray to the goddess,” she said.
Tamannaah also spoke about what she saw about the festival and Bihari culture in particular.
“Nowadays, we hear a lot about gratitude and expression. It is a very beautiful part of Bihari culture. Everyone pays their respects to the rising sun, but here, the setting sun is given equal importance and respect,” he said.
Recalling the experience of shooting the scene, Tamannaah said that she got emotional while doing the scene.
“When I was shooting the scene, I started to drift off and I don’t know why. As actors, we’re mariners, and I think there’s something beyond us that makes us feel certain things,” she said.

W Siddharth and Tamannaah’s first film is also together. The cast includes Manish Paul, Shweta Tiwari, Sunil Grover and Anoop Soni.
