Salman Khan’s Dabangg ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ on Bigg Boss 20 made a powerful statement against trolling, body-shaming, and “inappropriate” paparazzi clicks of female celebrities. Salman Khan spoke directly against trolls who attacked his ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif for gaining weight after she made a public appearance at a high-profile Ganpati festival in Mumbai last week.
Salman said on Bigg Boss 20, “Why do you troll someone who gets pregnant? Everyone gains weight because of pregnancy… Jab Woh Picharon Mein Wapas Ayegi To Woh Fit Ayegi… She wants to spend time with her family,” Salman said on Bigg Boss 20.
As the video clip went viral, the internet showered him with a Gen Z compliment, calling him a “pookie” (an endearing term for standing up for a cause).
“If only the green flag had a face,” wrote one.
Another wrote, “Abu Salman Khan has been given a green flag.
“Salut hai bhai apko,” wrote another.
The actor also spoke about being targeted online for his age, with social media users commenting that he looked old.
Salman said, “Of course, I am 60 years old, man. “You can’t be my love all the time… this age has suddenly become (a topic) (people say) what happened… what do you want to troll… I know who trolls… we don’t react… our fan club is like that… what’s the difference between us… tell us…,” he added.
Furious, Salman took off his shirt and cap, wiped off his makeup on camera and challenged trolls to mock him.
He then showed off his fit body, making it clear he wasn’t bothered by the criticism.
Salman also spoke about the online criticism of his brother Sohail Khan and others. “First look at yourself, look at your body and then do all this… look at your mother and father… and then troll… make fun of Sohail, use Varun it’s not done,” he said. Salman added, “Troll as much as you want, wear as much as you want…”
Salman Khan slams paparazzi for inappropriate shot.
The actor also criticized the paparazzi for filming the actresses from behind and taking it as an inappropriate shot. “Paparazzi are taking hip shots, tango shots, aur agar peach se mil jaaye toh wo bhi late hai. None of these are heroines, no one likes it. My own niece is taking her shots from the peak and captioning them ‘Pachnoy’? I’m telling girls all this: Agar Esa Ho To Ghoom Ek Chamat Maro.” And say, ‘Shoot your mother and sister.’ Despicable people! What is this mindset? Salman said.
Salman and Katrina reportedly started dating in the mid-2000s after working together. Katrina later admitted in an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2011 that Salman was her first serious relationship.
Katrina is married to Vicky Kaushal since 2021. They welcomed their first child, son Vihaan, last November.
