New Delhi:

Kareena Kapoor has opened up about how her family dealt with Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing incident earlier this year. While the attack left the actor with physical and emotional pain, Kareena revealed that their son Taimur saw the situation differently and wanted Saif to forgive his attacker.

In an interview with mojo story, Kareena spoke about Saif’s choice to forgive his attacker and the mixed feelings he had after the incident.

The actor said, “I don’t think anyone would have thought that this could happen. Justice is different for everyone. Both my son Tim and Saif believe that he should be forgiven. In fact it was Tim who said to Saif, ‘Abba, forgive him.’

Kareena said the family’s reaction was partly influenced by what they learned about the accused’s circumstances.

He shared, “A policeman came to the house and said he was looking for money. He actually told the same thing to Nani at home. He wanted Rs 1 crore. He said he wanted to send it to his mother. He confessed: He wanted the money because his mother had to undergo surgery. Obviously, we were like, if it wasn’t like this, it wouldn’t be like this, when it happened. ‘Forgive him.’

Expressing her feelings, Kareena admits that the question of justice has become complicated for her. “The fact is that Saif has suffered, so how do I get justice for him? The pain that I felt for so long? So it’s obviously very complicated,” he added.

Saif was attacked in the early hours of January 16 last year when an intruder allegedly entered the family’s Bandra home. He sustained multiple stab wounds and was taken to Lilavati Hospital for treatment. The actor underwent surgery for his injuries, including a severe wound near his spine, before being discharged a few days later.
