Actor Karthik Aryan received his first National Award for the film 2024 Chandu Champion from President Draupadi Murmu at a function held today in Kevadia, Gujarat.

She shared a candid picture with her parents on her Instagram story, captioning it, “With my world for the biggest moment of my life.”

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the winners of the 72nd National Film Awards on 18 July.

The winners were selected by an 11-member jury headed by acclaimed filmmaker Jayaraj, who evaluated the entries from across the country before submitting their recommendations to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Directed by Kabir Khan with producer Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film stars Karthik Aryan in the lead role as India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, Muralikant Petkar.

Chandu Champion was released on June 14, 2024. Opening to mixed reviews, it emerged as a commercial failure, grossing ₹88.73 crore worldwide. The film also stars Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora and Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav in lead roles.
