November 2 is nothing short of a festival for Shahrukh Khan fans. Every year, the superstar’s birthday brings with it the hope of catching a glimpse of him outside his famous Mumbai home, Mannat, or meeting him at a special gathering organized for his fans.

However, this year, the tradition is set to take a different turn, with Shah Rukh Khan expected to miss out on his traditional birthday bash as he shoots for his upcoming venture King.

According to NDTV sources, the annual meet and greet with fans will not be held in Mumbai this year.

Shah Rukh Khan, who turns 61 on November 2, is expected to be in London, where a song for the King has been shot on his birthday.

This development comes after reports that Shah Rukh Khan was busy shooting for a song with Deepika Padukone in Mumbai. The actor is now expected to fly to London for another dance number as work continues on the film’s soundtrack.

While fans may be disappointed to miss out on their annual birthday gathering with the superstar, there may still be a chance to meet him before the year ends.

According to sources, Shah Rukh Khan is expected to organize a fan meet and greet ahead of the theatrical release of King on December 24. The proposed gathering is expected to bring fans together to celebrate the actor and his upcoming film.

For the past two years, Shah Rukh Khan has not been making a formal appearance outside Mannat on his birthday. Instead, he hosted fan gatherings at the Bal Gandharva Rang Temple in Mumbai. The events have drawn huge queues, with fans gathering outside the venue after getting passes for a chance to meet their favorite stars.

The private interaction gave fans a chance to spend time with Shah Rukh Khan, ask him questions and listen to him speak, with the media not allowed inside the gatherings.

Shah Rukh Khan’s absence from Mannat is due to renovation work on the property, which has forced him to move out of his residence temporarily.

This year, however, his shooting commitments are expected to take him out of Mumbai entirely.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, King stars an ensemble cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Anil Kapoor. The film is slated to hit theaters on December 24, making the pre-release fan gathering an event that fans will be watching.
