Munmun Dutta became a household name as Babita Iyer in the long-running sitcom Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma. Her character’s friendly equation with Jethalal played by Dilip Joshi has also been a frequent source of laughter in the show.
The actor gave fans a glimpse around the familiar Gokuldham when the sets were quiet and there was no shooting. As she walked through places that viewers have seen over the years, Munmun reflected on her long association with the sitcom and became emotional recalling her journey.
He joked, “The sets look haunted. When not at work.”
Munmun was seen walking on the sets and revisiting familiar places that have been part of his journey over the years.
Sharing a glimpse, Munmun wrote, “I walk here between shots, relive all the memories, and realize that I actually grew up on this set. And how lucky I feel.”
Using the song Let the days pass In another part of the post, she wrote, “And this song will forever be etched in my heart. I still shed a tear or two listening to it.”
A Polaroid-style photo from the set completed the mood. He described it as somewhere between “sadness and peace”.
Munmun Dutta, who plays Babita Iyer, has been associated with the sitcom for the past 18 years, ever since the show first premiered.
Speaking to IANS at a press conference, the actor highlighted the importance of women Tarak Mehta’s Olta Chashma.
“Sometimes women don’t get that much importance. I’m not saying it happens here, but it happens in some places. We bring a lot to the show and to our characters. Women are equally important in Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma,” he added.
Apart from Munmun Dutta, other popular characters in the show include Dilip Joshi as Jethalal, Champaklal Gada (played by Amit Bhatt), Atmaram Tukaram Bhide (played by Mandar Chandwadkar), Sonalika Joshi as Madhvi Bhide, Dr. Hansraj Hathi, played by Nirmal Soni, and Roshan Singh Sodhi played by Roshan Singh Sodhi.
