Tyrese Gibson gives a glimpse of his spiritual journey in India
On Saturday, Tyrese shared a carousel of videos and photos on Instagram. In a video, he was seen wearing a kurta and performing aarti in front of the idol of Lord Ganesha. In another video, he is shown offering milk on a Shivalinga in a temple in Mumbai.
Along with the video and pictures, the actor penned a heartfelt note about his spiritual journey in India. He wrote, “I am back in India, and the journey continues… In 1959, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. came to India not as a tourist, but as a pilgrim. He came to study the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, whose philosophy of nonviolent resistance forever shaped the civil rights movement. Dr. King later said that Jesus showed him the feeling of love, but Gandhi showed him the way. That trip changed history.”
He continued, “I have always wanted to learn how to meditate – practice stillness, quiet the racing thoughts that sometimes bring anxiety, and seek true peace of mind, body, and spirit. This is a lifelong journey. Thank you to the AMA for welcoming me so lovingly. I am deeply grateful and honored. This experience was not only timely; it was truly life-changing. I truly believe that this brother will one day receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his extraordinary work rescuing and protecting animals.” Will get blessings.
Tyrese revealed what made this trip even more special for him, saying, “What makes this trip even more meaningful is that I’m here in India with my childhood friend, Kenyatta, because Vivaan and his childhood best friend, Sahil, still have an incredible lifelong friendship. That story inspired this trip to India! Kenyatta and I have been best friends since we were eight years old. He fed me, protected me The Snowdens, and their parents, opened their home to me and stood by me during some of the most difficult seasons of my childhood and adolescence.”
He concluded, “Life has taught me something simple: When you’re truly grateful, every day you’re trying to figure out how to give back to the people who stood by you when you had nothing. Now we’re here… together in Mumbai, India. Thank you to my brother @prabs.12. May your never-ending talent, wisdom, advice, and the extraordinary circle of friends you lead continue to bless everyone associated with you. Thank you to your parents and Making our family incredibly proud. We’re having a purpose, an impact, and a prayer for what I believe will be a culture-changing, inspirational moment.”
The final slide was captioned, “Spiritual relaxation in India. The spiritual journey to become a better person continues.”
Responding to those questioning his beliefs, Tyrese clarified that this was his second trip to India but the first time he has been able to embark on a spiritual journey. He said he was committed to practicing meditation and experiencing the country’s important religious traditions.
He wrote, “I learned a lot. I was so overwhelmed and at peace after doing everything they asked me to do. I had to sit quietly for about 40 minutes. I just couldn’t move because I felt peace, vibration and energy all around me. I don’t think anyone who follows me can ever question my belief system, my religion and the Lord Jesus Christ whom I represent on a much bigger stage and platform than most of you. I still have five here More days. Me and @kingyata365 are having a life changing time, and there’s nothing you can do about it, amen, amen, thanks for everything!”
