Actress Upasana Singh has alleged that Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure tampered with CINTAA’s (Cine and TV Artists’ Association) fixed deposit of around Rs 90 lakh and transferred the money from a bank account which was supposed to remain dormant.

talking with IANSUpasana said that CINTAA has fixed deposits and bank accounts in five banks. He said the banks were informed about the dissolution of the previous committee and asked to keep the accounts frozen till the new committee takes charge.

According to him, the accounts were to be opened only after the new committee was recognized after the court order. However, he alleged that an account was opened earlier.

“We found that the account had already been opened. They had opened their account there, and the money from CINTAA’s FDs was transferred to it,” he said.

Upasana alleged that the money was then used in different places. However, he said the exact amount transferred from FDs is not known. He also questioned how fixed deposits could be broken without consulting CINTAA members.

“This is such a big issue because if you want to break the FD of any organization, you have to ask the members first. How can they break the FD?” He said.

He claimed that an official signature would be required for the transaction. On the other hand, he alleged that the office staff took Film Body President Poonam Dhillon, Vice President Padmini Kolhapure and Treasurer Kanvarjeet Pental to the bank.

According to Upasana, they showed Bank CINTAA’s stamp, email ID and office details and asked the bank to open the account through KYC process.

“They took Pental Sahab, Poonam and Padmini and told the bank, ‘This is our stamp, this is our email ID, and this is our office. You open our account through KYC,'” he alleged.

CINTAA is already embroiled in a dispute over who should run the association. Various parties are claiming control over the committee and its bank accounts.
