Popular Bollywood actor Nana Patekar died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Goa on Thursday. The actor was in Goa for an event where he made his last public appearance at Dona Paula on October 4.
Actor and Padma Shri awardee Vishwanath “Nana” Patekar attended the inauguration ceremony of Emperor Club International, State-1 at Taj Cidade de Goa, Dona Paula on Sunday. Rajshree A. Khandeparkar along with his Board of Directors was installed as the State President for 2026-27.
In a post shared by news agency PTI, Nana Patekar was seen addressing the inauguration ceremony of Samrat Club International in Goa. He was wearing a white kurta and a white scarf (gamcha) at the event. The actor spoke about former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, praising him and his style of working as a politician.
He added that everyone has to go (die) one day, “I don’t know if I’ll be here tomorrow.”
“We all have to go someday. I don’t know if I’ll be here tomorrow. Everyone’s life will eventually reach that point. But before that happens, I have to ask myself: Am I capable of doing what I want to do?” Addressing the gathering at the event, the actor said in Marathi.

According to the latest information, Nana Patekar died at 5:20 am on Thursday due to a heart attack at his home.
Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Head of Oncology Department, Manipal Hospital, said that despite continuous CPR for 45 minutes, he could not be revived. “A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered, and an autopsy will be conducted,” the doctor said.
Nana Patekar was last seen in the film ‘O’ Romeo’ alongside Shahid Kapoor, Tripti Dimri, Avinash Tiwari and Disha Patani.
