Diljit Dosanjh is gearing up to perform in Delhi on October 30 as part of his Aura India tour. While reports surfaced online about the concert not being approved by the Delhi Police, they have now given permission for the event after a meeting with the organizers. Now the Punjabi singer has narrated the entire incident in his own style.
During an Instagram Live session, Diljit poked fun at the viral reels, tweets and newsroom debates surrounding his Delhi concert. The singer said, “What a great day today! What great vibes are coming! What I was saying is that the reels are gone, the tweets are gone, the debates in your newsroom are gone. See you in Delhi for 30 days now. [I was saying that reels have been made, tweets have been posted, and newsroom debates have already begun. Now, see you in Delhi on the 30th.]”
He added,Please spread the word first, what kind of smoke are you making? It is better to settle the matter first than to smoke. This is going on debate after debate, tweet after tweet. [Find out the facts first before jumping to conclusions. You’re making a lot of noise without knowing the full story. It’s better to get your facts straight first. They keep having one debate after another and posting tweet after tweet].”
The Delhi Police had denied permission for the concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, citing specific threats, security concerns and law and order arrangements during the festive season. The decision also comes amid tight security following hoax bomb threat emails sent to several schools in the capital on October 15.
Event organizer BookMyShow Live later confirmed that the permission, which was temporarily withheld, was reconsidered and granted.
With the Delhi concert now cleared to go ahead, Diljit Dosanjh is all set to continue the Indian leg of his Aura India tour in multiple cities. The tour schedule includes stops at Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Lucknow and Chandigarh.
