A day after winning his first National Award for Chandu Champion, Karthik Aryan today sought the blessings of Ganapati at Mumbai’s famous Lalbaghcha Raja. What caught the attention of the internet was Karthik touching Murthy’s feet with his national award.

Sharing the picture, she captioned it, “Mera Sukh-Karta Dukh-Harta. Blessed beyond words. Thanks Bappa!!”

Directed by Kabir Khan with producer Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film stars Karthik Aryan in the lead role as India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, Muralikant Petkar.

Chandu Champion was released on June 14, 2024. Opening to mixed reviews, it emerged as a commercial failure, grossing ₹88.73 crore worldwide. The film also stars Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora and Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav in lead roles.

In his review for NDTV, film critic Sable Chatterjee wrote, “Karthik Aryan sheds his free-spirited goodabout cloak and gets into the skin of a character that makes a lot of demands on the actor. Aryan gives the role physically what he has and gives a career-best performance. But it can never top Chandu.”
