Thanks to @arrahman for giving us recycled kawali tamil song for Ramayan movie. Imagine spending ₹9,000 crore for a Hindu epic and claiming to hire the big beef cow as Rama, the Hindu-army hater as Sita and Allah Rakha Rehman for the music! https://t.co/IxYGWGuPKw

Some users also expressed dissatisfaction with the film’s overall music, saying they would have preferred songs associated with Sanskrit traditions.
One user wrote, “Never liked any song in Ramayana, only Ramayana BGM is good. All other songs are mediocre… this song in particular has very little vibe; it would have been 100 times better if they used pure Sanskrit songs.”

Another user wrote ar. Targeting Rahman’s musical choices, he wrote, “AR Rahman is recycling his homework.”
One of the more detailed reactions questioned whether Rahman was the right choice as music director for the film. The user wrote, “Disappointing!! AR Rahman was the worst choice as music director for this film. It sounds like a Qawwali. Very inspired by his earlier work in Rockstar/Jodha Akbar. Very “Kun Faya Kun” vibes. Rahman has done the same mediocre job with Chhav. That this film deserves.”

Rahman did the same mediocre job with Chhav. Ajay-Atul or Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy would have done the music justice that this film deserves. #Ramayana #Mangalrang
