Meanwhile, he revealed the conversation he had with his son about playing the role of Ravana and told that he did not expect at all the reaction his son Yatharva gave to playing the role of Ravana. According to Yash, his son was not ready to believe that he could play the role of ‘Raavan’. As soon as Yatharva came to know about it, he started questioning Yash, after which the rocking star had to explain and convince his son for a long time.
Yash was surprised by Yash’s revelations
According to news agency IANS, when Yash told his son Yatharva that he was not playing the role of Lord Ram but Ravana in the film, Yatharva got angry and started asking why he was playing the role of Ravana. Talking about this, Yash says- ‘When my son came to know the story of ‘Ramayana’ and which character his father is playing in this film, he was surprised. As soon as he heard this he said, ‘No, you are a bad person! How can you do this?’ In such a situation, I explained to him that I did this so that people can understand the story properly, for this the whole story has to be shown.
Children have to be explained – Yash
Yash told how he has to explain the difference between an actor and a character to his children. Talking about the challenge, she said that she had to explain the broader significance of the story to her children and then also explain to both of them why Lord Ram is considered an ideal. He continued and said – ‘I had to sit my son and explain that the main character of this story is Lord Ram, whom he should consider as his ideal and everyone should follow the path shown by Lord Ram. Ravana may seem grand, impressive and powerful, but true and permanent victory in life is achieved only when you follow the path of religion and truth like Shri Ram. I told him – ‘You can encourage me as an actor in the theatre, but don’t make the mistake of considering my character as your ideal.’
Making my son understand was a different experience – Yash
Yash tells that his conversation with his son reached a different turn when the son asked what happens to Ravana in the end? Does he get killed? Yash says- ‘He asked me, ‘Do you die at the end?’ Do you lose?’ When I signed this project, I had not even thought about how I would answer my son’s questions. I just thought that I should give a great performance to the audience. Explaining to children the difference between an actor and a character was a different experience. ‘
