Smriti Irani has won hearts as Tulsi Virani on television and has carved a strong niche for herself in Indian politics as well. Now that is the second season Because mother-in-law is always daughter-in-law Thi has come to an end, raising the big question, will she continue acting even after the show ends?
Smriti says that her love for acting has never ended. He explained that his work in politics is important to him, but he no longer feels he has to choose one career over another.
He also revealed that he didn’t wait for someone to offer him the role, rather he took the first step himself. She is not ashamed to start over, no matter how successful one may have been in the past.
During the conversation with Times of IndiaSmriti Irani said, “I am actually very proud to have picked up that phone. Why am I ashamed of asking for work? I started my professional life by asking for opportunity. Why should success make me so entitled that asking for another opportunity is beneath me? I have held important responsibilities in public life and I also know what it is like for me to pick up the telephone and work? I am equally comfortable owning both experiences.”
Smriti believes that holding a powerful position should not make one feel superior. She feels that every kind of work deserves respect and people should never be afraid to start over.
“My political responsibilities are a commitment I have made to public life. Acting is an art I stopped practicing, but obviously never stopped loving. I don’t know if I would call it a comeback.
“I’d call it reinvention. And this time, I don’t feel the need to just close a door to prove my commitment to the room I’m already in.”
Smriti Irani once thought she had quit acting for good, but 25 years after she first played the role of Tulsi, she returned to play the same role. This experience made him realize that people don’t have to give up one part of their lives to focus on another.
The actor-politician is open to new opportunities and if she finds the work interesting, she will give it the required time and effort.
